Rehabilitation programs
C.RE.CER intensive program
This is a holistic program which is basically centered in
rehabilitating the patient's neuromotor-sensory communicative and
neuropsychological disorders: problems with memory, attention,
language, aggression, depression, lack of control over impulses, etc.
It is carried out at a designated time 4 days per week, normally for a
continuous period of 6 months. Patients are evaluated before and after
treatment to appraise the progress made. Several professionals take
part in the development of the program (neuropsychologists, speech
therapists, physiotherapists, etc.).

C.RE.CER programs for inpatients and for those in vegetative state
This program is for those patients who do not fulfill all the criteria
for admission to the Intensive program and, after the medical and
neuropsychological evaluation process, it is considered that they would benefit from early intervention
and rehabilitation during their hospital stay. It can also be done at home. The program is
designed specifically for each patient and developed by all the
necessary professionals.
This program takes maximum advantage of early intervention to the brain
injury. It is based on selectively stimulating the less-affected
access pathways of patients in order to achieve activation of
different cerebral systems. For this reason, the rehabilitation
program is carried out in the place where the patient is hospitalized
until he/she can come to our facilities. Once the patient is able to
follow treatment at our Center, the adequate program is adapted to
his/her needs (Intensive, Instrumental, Follow-up, etc.).
|
C.RE.CER. community re-entry program
This return to the community program is designed to facilitate the
patient's re-entry into the community, being able to adapt to it with
his/her resources and live independently. It is good for patients who
either did not have serious neuropsychological sequelae or because
he/she was discharged from an Intensive program and returned to
premorbid activities, but found difficulties in being able to get
fully involved in things outside of assisted environments. This
program includes activities of adaptation and incorporation into
daily, real-life situations in the community; they are for a shorter
time than the Intensive program and are designed and adapted to the
needs of the patient and his/her family.
|
C.RE.CER. vocational and labor program
The aim of the vocational and labor program is to help the patient
prepare for studies or work and become aware of his/her possibilities
and goals. The program offers a wide range of training possibilities
in social, academic and labor skills.
The program is designed specifically for patients who need to
participate in it as an integral part of his/her rehabilitation and
are truly able to benefit from it; the patient and the family must be
highly motivated for the desired objectives.
|
C.RE.CER. follow-up program
All patients who have participated in any of the programs at our
Center are welcome to take part in a periodic Follow-up Program.
The program consists of the patient's total progress being monitored
for a certain time during his/her participation in the C.RE.CER.
Programs. Thus, on the one hand, the program makes the results obtained from
rehabilitation more ecological and, on the other,
gives a longitudinal, scientific analysis of the evolution of the
patients. Once the follow-up program has ended, periodic evaluations
of the patient's situation continue in each of the areas treated.
|
C.RE.CER. instrumental programs
Instrumental Programs at the C.RE.CER Center are destined to those
patients in whom brain injury has not caused general impairment,
but whose global neuro-motor, sensory and neuropsychological
functioning is maintained, and the deficiency needing rehabilitation treatment
is in a certain area only.
The services which can be solicited, among others, are:
- Family therapy
- Neuropsychological assessment
- Occupational therapy
- Psychosocial orientation
- Language and speech therapy training
- Psychomotor and corporal image
- Training of social skills
- Memory training
- Calculus training
- Attention training

C.RE.CER. program of family support
This program helps family members adapt to a new situation in
the family circle after brain injury has affected one of its members. It helps
families confront problems correctly so that the patient's quality of
life, and that of the family, is better able to endure new problems
confronting them.
|
C.RE.CER. youth program
Brain injury acquired in childhood requires specific training
programs. They are designed to treat cognitive disorders and conduct
in children and adolescents with cerebral lesions so that they can
reintegrate into school and family life in the best physical and
neurological conditions.

C.RE.CER. academic reincorporation program
The aim of the C.RE.CER program of academic reincorporation is complete
adaptation of the patient to the school environment from the
emotional, behavioral and cognitive points of view. Correct planning
by the C.RE.CER professional team and the educational team at the school
to which the patient returns is necessary for designing a program;
collaboration between the two is essential in setting curricular
objectives, classroom standards, necessary recommendations from the
behavioral and emotional points of view and possible curricular
adaptations needed by the patient so that the academic course can be
carried out the best way.
Once the C.RE.CER academic reincorporation program is designed,
there is a second phase just as important as the planning - that of
supervision. In this phase of the program, the patient is monitored while attending the
educational institution and the Rehabilitation Center at the same time
so that all aspects are carried out in a normal way,
avoiding the appearance of negative consequences such as lack of
motivation, poor integration with peers, and incorrect conduct in the
classroom or with classmates.
At the present time, the C.RE.CER academic reincorporation program is
obtaining excellent results for patients in primary and secondary
schools, participating in close collaboration with educational centers
and achieving great satisfaction for patients and family members.
